Originally launched in 2017, the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) has successfully welcomed over 10,000 new permanent residents to the Atlantic Canada region. This collaborative effort encompasses four Canadian provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as Prince Edward Island. Building on the success of its pilot phase, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program transitioned to permanence on December 17, 2021, and was subsequently rebranded as the Atlantic Immigration Program. The newly established permanent program officially began operations on January 1, 2022.

Distinguished as an immigration initiative, the Atlantic Immigration Program enables employers within the Atlantic provinces of Canada to hire immigrants for job opportunities. Additionally, this program serves as a pathway for individuals to pursue permanent residency in the country.
